A full and detailed list of Terms and Conditions will be included in every quotation sent in relation to the nature of said works 

 

Electrical Installation Condition Reports 

The following Terms and Conditions are relevant to the testing and inspection of existing electrical installations:

 

  1. All testing and inspection of existing electrical installations will be carried out in accordance to the current edition of BS:7671, also taking into account approved publications from industry guidance e.g. The Dorset Model 
  2. All testing and inspection carried out closely follow advice and guidance from the Best Practice Guide 4 published by Electrical Safety First when classifying codes and deviations for electrical installations 
  3. D.L.R Electrical reserve the right to limit the number of electrical accessories taken apart for visual inspections in accordance with regulation 651.2 of BS7671. Typically, we always aim to inspect at least 2x accessories on each circuit inside the property. If decoration may be damaged as a result of dismantling accessories, we reserve the right to omit visual inspections of said accessories. If accessories are concealed behind heavy furniture which carries risk of damage if moved, then we reserve the right to omit visual inspection of said accessories. If it is required that a greater extent of visual inspection of accessories is to be carried out, then this must be agreed beforehand between D.L.R Electrical and the customer
  4. D.L.R Electrical will not visually inspect wiring underneath floorboards or otherwise concealed within building fabric. If it is required that visual inspections of concealed cables is to be carried out, then this must be agreed beforehand between D.L.R Electrical and the customer
  5. D.L.R Electrical will inspect cables in accessible roof spaces, unless doing so may cause potential damage to building fabric or loft spaces are full of possessions in which moving may cause damage
  6. D.L.R Electrical will not carry out Insulation Resistance testing between Live Conductors. This is to prevent possible damage to electrical equipment which will be subject to carrying out these tests in that manor. Consumer units are typically tested as a whole (all circuits together at once). If it is required that a full extent of Insulation Resistance tests is to be carried out, then this must be agreed beforehand between D.L.R Electrical and the customer 
  7. D.L.R Electrical will not inspect concealed accessories behind heavy kitchen appliances/furniture unless access to accessories can easily be achieved without potential damage to surroundings 
  8. D.L.R Electrical will assume the inspector has permission to enter all rooms/cupboards in the building/dwelling being inspected and tested 
  9. D.L.R Electrical cannot take responsibility from painting/decoration being damaged as a result from removing electrical accessories as required. Extreme care will be taken not to damage and paintwork and if any damage can be repaired on-site during the time of testing, we will aim to do this but cannot guarantee a perfect result of remedial action
  10. D.L.R Electrical reserve the right to increase the time taken on-site than originally assumed that the report may take to ensure an accurate report. This is typically when an installation is severely flawed with multiple potential dangers being identified. The original cost quoted of the report being carried out will not increase as a result of this
